MigraMundo combines journalism with scientific outreach, offering support in creating content that serves as a foundation for academic research.
Launched on October 3, 2012, originally as a blog, MigraMundo is a journalistic project focused on migration issues. Its guiding principle is the understanding of migration as a human process and a driver of development—social, political, economic, and cultural—while also actively combating xenophobia.
We also prioritize viewing migrants as rights holders, avoiding any derogatory terms or language that could foster prejudice. Furthermore, we recognize migration as a human right and, therefore, approach it from a non-partisan perspective.
Over time, the platform—which started as a blog and evolved into a full website in April 2016—has become a trusted source of information on migration issues for researchers, public officials, and media professionals. We continue to seek ways to strengthen and expand this mission.
